Type Daily ("us", "we", or "our") operates the Type Daily website and the Type Daily app for iPhone and iPad (the "Service"). This page explains what information the Service handles, why, and the choices you have.

Type Daily is a calendar that sets every day in a different open-source typeface. It works without an account, and almost everything it knows about you stays on your device.

What We Collect and Why

Fonts

Eight fonts ship inside the app. Every other day's font downloads from Google Fonts the first time that day comes into view. Like any web request, a download shares your IP address and basic device information with Google, and tells Google which font was requested. It carries nothing that identifies you to us. Google handles these requests under the Google Privacy Policy. Downloaded fonts are kept on your device so a day you return to opens without downloading again.

Bookmarks and Settings

The days you bookmark, and your choices of appearance, ink, haptics, and Daily Reminder time, are stored on your device. The app's widgets read your ink and the downloaded fonts from the same place on your device, so they match the app. We never receive any of it. If you delete the app, they are gone.

Subscriptions

Type Daily Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment, and we never see your name, Apple Account, or payment details. The app reads the App Store's record of your subscription on your device to unlock Pro features. To confirm a subscription is still active, the app may send that signed record to our server, which checks its status with Apple. The record describes the purchase, not you.

Daily Reminder

If you turn on the Daily Reminder, the app asks for permission to send notifications and schedules the reminder on your device. No push service or server is involved.

Photos

When you choose Save Image, the app asks for permission to add that image to your photo library. It can only add images. It cannot see the photos already in your library.

Sharing

When you share a day, the app hands its image to the iOS share sheet. What happens next depends on the app or person you choose to share with.

The Website

The website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts. It loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. Our hosting provider may log basic technical information such as IP address and request time, which we use only to keep the website running and prevent abuse.

What We Do Not Do

• We do not require an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, or contacts to use the app.
• We do not use analytics or tracking in the app, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
• We do not sell your personal data.
• We do not show advertising.

Service Providers

We rely on Apple for purchases and app distribution, on Google Fonts for font files, and on hosting providers for our server and website. These providers process data only to deliver their part of the Service, under their own privacy policies.

Transfer of Data

Requests to our providers may be processed on servers located outside of your state, province, or country, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. We take reasonable steps to ensure data is treated securely and in accordance with this policy wherever it is processed.

Security of Data

Data sent between the app and the services it uses is encrypted in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and while we use commercially reasonable safeguards, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Disclosure of Data

We may disclose data in the good faith belief that doing so is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect the rights or property of Type Daily, prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service, protect the personal safety of users or the public, or protect against legal liability.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

Your Choices

• You can remove any bookmark in the app at any time.
• You can remove downloaded fonts in Settings. They download again when their days come back into view.
• You can turn off the Daily Reminder in the app, or revoke notification and photo access in your device settings.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings.
• You can contact us with any question or request about your data at the email below.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new policy on this page and update the effective date at the top. You are advised to review this page periodically. Changes are effective when posted.
